Our Philosophy
K-9 Specialistʼs philosophy on training a dog correctly, comes from nothing more and nothing less than just pure nature.
What this means is K-9 Specialist does not use any tactics to training or correcting your dog that would not be seen in the wild.
We have spent many years studying and understanding the natural instincts of dogs. This includes how they survive, communicate, and adapt to their environment. We pride ourselves in the knowledge we have on the wild yet natural instincts of our now domesticated dogs, which have originated from the Wolf.
We do not use training techniques that you would not see a Pack Leader Wolf use in the wild. This would include shaking cans full of pennies, spraying a dog with a squirt bottle, or abuse in any manner such as hitting or yelling. Do you see thing happening in the wild? Of course not, so why would those “techniques” actually work? Well, they do not. All that does is make your dog afraid or aggressive, which tends to add to the problems he or she may have already had.
Here at K-9 Specialist, we believe that there are three phases of training when dealing with your dog. Those phases are the learning phase, the correction phase, and the correction under distraction phase. These phases and our training program recommendations will be discussed in depth during our one on one In-Home evaluation of you and your dog.
