Today I would like to boast about the 2nd most popular dog breed in America, the German Shepherd. This breed is known for its loyalty, courage, and intelligence. It’s strengths are herding and protecting, which makes a very well rounded dog for almost any home willing to care for it.

The German Shepherd was officially recognized by the AKC in 1908 and has been growing in popularity ever since. The famous television German Shepherd Rin Tin Tin sunk right into Americans hearts and truly earned the title ” a man’s best friend.”We are quite fond of this breed for its Protection instincts and capabilities. They naturally want and feel the need to protect its surroundings and family. Working with these guys has always been pleasurable, they definitely get the job done right. They have a nice strong bite, great sense of smell, and maneuver through obstacles with ease and accuracy.

Not only is this breed great for an active working home, but also wonderful for a family type setting. Their loyalty and passion for its family keeps these guys happy, healthy and strong. In most cases, they are fantastic with children and love to play. But because they are so protective, you won’t have to worry about your little one wandering too far because these guys will “herd” them right back in the yard…and it’s pretty darn cute if you ask me!

So there you have it. A little boasting about this fascinating breed never hurt anybody.
